Noosa Clinic Fees & Billing

The Noosa Clinic is not a Bulk Billing Surgery – The Doctor decides the appropriate fee to be charged for each consultation or procedure.

*The fees listed below are provided as a guide only. Please contact us if you wish to discuss the fee for your appointment.

Attention Noosa Clinic Patients

Changes to billing as of 01/01/2020

From 1st January 2020, as a result of changes by Medicare, we can no longer routinely bulk bill all patients.

It is no longer guaranteed that patients with a ‘Concession Card’ will be bulk billed.

To continue providing quality healthcare and cover operational costs, there may be instances from 1st January when you may be charged.

In this case, the Medicare rebate can be processed immediately from our office.

Thank you for your understanding – it has been a very difficult decision for us.

As such the Noosa Clinic staff will be updating your personal records, please provide the following:

  • Medicare Card
  • Centrelink Pension and Commonwealth Seniors Card
  • Centrelink Health Care Card
  • Private Health Card
  • Current Address and Contact details

Type of Consult Time Private Fees Medicare Rebate Patient out of pocket
Brief <10 mins $50.00 $18.20 $31.80
Standard <20 mins $80.00 $39.75 $40.25

Longer or more complex consults can incur a higher fee.

  • Please note: On Saturday’s “all” appointments attract a Private Fee

All new skin checks performed by Dr Desh Jayasinghe, who is an accredited Skin Cancer Doctor, will be charged a private fee.

A 30 minute consult fee is $150.00 with a rebate of $76.95.

Acupuncture treatment: For private patients with no concession card there is fee of $110 for initial and $80 for follow up appointments. Pensioners and Health Care Card holders will be charged a small fee.

Some complex surgical procedures may also attract a fee.

Minor procedures may attract a gap at the discretion of the doctor.

Patients with chronic conditions requiring frequent review, or frequent tests, may be bulk-billed at the discretion of their doctor.

Childhood vaccinations as per the Australian Immunisation Schedule.

If you have genuine difficulty in paying these fees the matter can be discussed with your doctor and alternate arrangements may be possible.

Regrettably we cannot advise you regarding the cost of medications, specialist treatment, blood tests and X-Rays as these services are provided by operators external to Noosa Clinic; We advise you to discuss the matter with the relevant provider.

Please note:  There will now be a charge for scripts requested by phone. The fee will be $10.

Also, for a Release of Records to another clinic – We are happy to send a summary of patient record with no charge. However, if the complete file is needed, the patient will have to pay a fee of $20.  There are many services which do not attract Medicare rebates and that Medicare does not cover the cost of disposable items or special equipment used in treatments.
