Important Update: ADHD Assessments & Medication A Note specifically regarding the new QLD Guidelines (December 2025)<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text css=””]At Noosa Clinic<\/strong>, our goal is to support every patient with safe, high-quality, and evidence-based care. We are aware that recent changes to Queensland legislation now allow certain GPs to diagnose and treat ADHD. However, ADHD is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that often overlaps with other medical and mental health factors. Because of this complexity, accurate diagnosis requires significant time, specialised training, and resources that go beyond a standard GP setting.<\/p>\n

Our Clinic Policy:<\/strong> To ensure patient safety and clinical excellence, the doctors at Noosa Clinic
\nwill not be providing initial ADHD diagnoses or initiating new stimulant treatments at this time.<\/p>\n

What We Can Do:<\/strong>
\n\u25cf Referrals:<\/strong> We can provide referrals to specialist Psychiatrists, Paediatricians or
\npsychologists who are experts in this field for your initial assessment.<\/p>\n

\u25cf Ongoing Care:<\/strong> We are happy to continue prescribing for existing patients who are
\nstable on medication and have a current management plan from their specialist (Shared
\nCare).<\/p>\n

\u25cf Support:<\/strong> We remain here to support your broader mental health and wellbeing.
\nWe understand this may be frustrating for patients hoping for a quicker pathway to diagnosis.
\nPlease know this decision was made carefully to ensure that your long-term care remains safe
